(1935-1936) California Pacific International Exposition Commemorative: The imagery of this coin and the State Seal of California are very similar. The seated figure bear and boat can be seen on the Seal created in 1849 for the state entering the Union. The Design is the most likely source of inspiration for the design. The Reverse has buildings from the event including the observation tower a popular feature of many events designed to see the event grounds from above. The Coin was originally minted in 1935 at the San Francisco mint. Then it was restruck under the recoinage act of May 6, 1936, at the Denver Mint.
